Upcoming Elections

2025

This year (2025) there are no more elections.

Next year (2026) will have the elections (Primary in August and General in November) for Governor/Lieutenant Governor, Secretary of State, Attorney General, Representatives in Congress, State Senator and other positions in our State government as well as probable proposals to be voted on. There is also a possibility that we could have an election (probably in May) for all or part of our resident community – this depends on what school districts will do. I encourage you to do your due diligence before voting for these things – there are a few websites you can “visit” to look into what you will be voting on. Normally, we have a sample ballot available about 6 weeks before the election – feel free to come to the township to request a sample (if you are not on the absentee ballot list).

Voter Information

Absentee Voting

As far as absentee ballots go, there are a few ways you can receive an absentee ballot:

  • Residents can fill out a form and get onto the “permanent ballot” list (with this, you receive a ballot for every election you are qualified to vote in – this is a one-time form…and, it “follows” you if you move within the State)
  • Residents can come in and fill out a one-time request for an absentee ballot
  • Go online to request an absentee ballot

Further, you can walk in at the township hall any time to request an absentee ballot during Clerk hours – we will have you fill out a form and have you wait to take it with you.

Early Voting

“Nine Days of Early Voting” is still in place in Michigan. That means that for each State or Federal election, we must be available for voters to vote 9 straight days – 8 hours per day from the 2nd Saturday before the election through the Sunday immediately before the Tuesday Election Day.

We “host” the 9 days of Early Voting in the records room at the township hall because we are able to completely lock that room after “suspending” the tabulator at the end of each day session – which makes it tamper-proof. We are required to have 3 workers (of different party affiliations) with the tabulator at all times – so that the election integrity is upheld to what the law requires.

Election Workers

If you are interested in becoming an election worker, please come in and fill out an application form – we will put you on the list and notify you when there is an opening. There is training (hosted by the County) that you will be required to complete before you can be certified to be an election worker.
